THE JOURNEY

Joining campus was a dream come true. After finalizing my form four in a beautiful school in kwale county,,,,, i dreaded to join campus so much. I could die for it if it meant dying. Kuccps placed us and i was placed in MMUST, kakamega county. I was very much excited, little did i know what will befall me.
The exact day was here and I was to Join campus. Left home early inthe morning and hit the road that lead to kakamega. My stomach was hot. I used to see girls online enjoying campus life and i knew exactly what i wanted for my campus life. So yeah, we pulled up to the gate and showed documents that justified i was trully to be admitted. We drove through the drive way and parked close to the graduation square. Moments later, i saw other freshmen as me streaming in the campus compound for admission. I was super excited.
Admission was done and i was directed to the hostels. I never wanted those inside school so we opted for those private ones that are outside the school compound. I choose a room suitable for me and luckily i got myself inthe same school with my schoolmate. Yeah,,,, and campus life began. I knew i had it all at my footstep. The time, decision and choices were all solely on me. This made me feel nice.
Made friends with people and comrades from other classes. Life felt goood,,,,, you talk to who you want, dress how you want, doing what you want and being where you want at anytime. I was not used to this type of freedom so i didnt know how to go about it. I made friends,,, both of good calibre and those of bad reputation, i cant lie. This was now the real thing. I used to hear campus doesnt give you degree only,, it also gives you life lessons as you meet various people of various behaviour and background and you have to learn to co exist. That itself is a lesson on its own.

I experimented life in many ways..... Tried sex, tried alcohol, tried cigarettes, sniffed cocaine, smoked weed and any 'usherati' that happens in campus. Now this was the life i enjoyed and i never wanted it to end. I found myself travelling all the way to Nairobi for parties and bashes. Men and money was a language i spoke. I forgot what took me to campus and started missing examinations. I started using my school fees for party life.
One day, i sat and thought to myself how unfair i was being to me and my family members back home. I had to put an end to it all. I had to stop all these. I had to cut communication with these groups of friends we used to party. I had to hide from men who would pursue and finance my lifestyle. I had to choose what was right for me. It dawned to me that i had to start all over again and that its not too late.
I called my parents and convinced them that i really had to change campus and get another course to do. That how I landed in Technical University of Mombasa. Doing mass communication and i love it here.Stress free and full concentration in my book work and projects.
Almost finishing and am super excited.
Baesd on a true life story.
